Trump throws support to 3 Republicans in tight Congressional races

President Trump tweeted out a trio of endorsements Saturday, giving the nod to Rep. Pete Sessions, Rep. Keith Rothfus, and Danny Tarkanian in three tight congressional races.

Sessions faces a challenge from former NFL player and Democrat Colin Allred as he seeks re-election in Texas’ 32nd Congressional District, which he has represented since 2002. RealClearPolitics rates the race a toss-up in a district Hillary Clinton won in 2016.

The race in Pennsylvania’s 17th Congressional District between Rothfus and his Democratic rival Rep. Conor Lamb, who now represents the 18th district, is also rated a toss-up by RealClearPolitics. All district lines in the state were redrawn earlier this year after the Pennsylvania Supreme Court struck down its previous map for partisan gerrymandering.

Republican Tarkanian is vying with Democrat Susie Lee in Nevada’s 3rd Congressional District, which RealClearPolitics rates as leaning Democratic. Rep. Jacky Rosen, a Democrat, was elected in 2017 to represent the district, which narrowly went for Trump in 2016.
