Hey, Johnson supporters, I was right about Bill Weld being pro-Hillary

Just when you thought things couldn’t get worse for the Clinton campaign, an invisible hand reached down to Hillary to try and pull her up from the rubble of James Comey’s latest bombshell about her emails. That hand belongs to Libertarian vice presidential candidate Bill Weld.

That’s right, in an interview on CNN New Day on Monday morning, the former Massachusetts Governor attacked FBI Director James Comey and said he should have kept a lid on it with regards to sending a letter to the Senate Judiciary Committee about searching Clinton aide Huma Abedin’s laptop for additional emails.

“If you don’t know, keep your mouth shut,” Weld told CNN host Alisyn Camerota. “Don’t speculate. He’s forwarding a gossamer thread and saying, ‘This might be something. We don’t know. Probably. We definitely don’t think so now because we haven’t seen the emails.'”

When asked how he thinks it affects the race, Weld simply said, “I think it’s disgraceful.”

Weld then went on to reference the scene in Monty Python and the Holy Grail where the village accuses a local peasant woman of being a witch and chanting “Burn her! Burn her!”

Why is Weld coming to the defense of Hillary Clinton? Does he secretly want her elected president? Does he realize that he and Gary Johnson are also running to win the White House?

None of us know for certain because Weld has been sending mixed messages out, saying in a statement, “After careful observation and reflection, I have come to believe that Donald Trump, if elected President of the United States, would not be able to stand up to this pressure and this criticism without becoming unhinged and unable to perform competently the duties of his office.”

He then later released a statement clarifying how it wasn’t an endorsement of Hillary Clinton. However, what he’s saying to the media runs parallel to what a Clinton surrogate would say.

People came after me when I wrote about Weld’s statement and how he basically gave his supporters a pass to vote for Hillary Clinton. This interview on CNN further proves my point. Weld wants to stop Donald Trump from being president at all costs. Either he has his head in the sand and believes he and Gary Johnson have a real shot at this (they don’t), or he’s a realist and acknowledges that if you don’t want Trump to be president, you might as well vote for the one person who can beat him.

Face it, Johnson supporters, you’ve been bamboozled.
