North Korea is now a “clear and present danger” to the United States after the test of a missile that could reach Chicago, California Sen. Dianne Feinstein said Sunday.
Feinstein, speaking on CBS’ “Face The Nation,” said North Korea is a threat to the country that must be taken seriously following its latest missile test.
“[I view North Korea] as a clear and present danger to the United States,” she said.
“I’m convinced North Korea has never moved at the speed that this leader has — to develop an [intercontinental ballistic missile], to put solid fuel [in a missile], to have an interesting launch device, and to have a trajectory, which as of the latest analysis would allow it to go about 6,000 miles,” she said.
She added, “We can’t have that.”
Feinstein called for a diplomatic solution that could be led by new White House chief of staff John Kelly, a former Marine general.
She said North Korea is now showing how dangerous it is to isolate a country and to force them to show their strength in military ways.
