President Obama interrupted the Grammys Sunday night to deliver a message about domestic violence and sexual assault.
“Tonight we celebrate artists whose music and message help shape our culture, and together we can change our culture for the better by ending violence against women and girls,” began Obama.
He urged music artists to invite their fans to visit ItsOnUs.org and take the pledge to stop sexual assault in America.
“It’s on us — all of us — to create a culture where violence isn’t tolerated, where survivors are supported, and where all our young people — men and women — can go as far as their talents and their dreams will take them,” explained Obama.
One wonders why he chose the Grammys and not the Super Bowl — considering the Ray Rice scandal — to deliver such a message.
