Hillary Clinton bests Donald Trump by 12 percentage points, 49-37, in Bloomberg politics’ nationwide poll.
The poll also found Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson polling at 9 percent, while 55 percent of respondents who didn’t pick Trump said they would never support the presumptive GOP nominee.
The results mostly spell good news for Clinton.
“Clinton has a number of advantages in this poll, in addition to her lead,” said J. Ann Selzer, the survey’s pollster, to Bloomberg. “Her supporters are more enthusiastic than Trump’s and more voters overall see her becoming a more appealing candidate than say that for Trump.”
Trump, however, led Clinton by 4 percentage points, 45-41, when respondents were asked which candidate they have more confidence in if a shooting similar to Orlando happened again.
Selzer conducted the poll from June 10-13, Friday through Monday, and questions about the Orlando shooting were added. The poll surveyed 1,000 adults — including 750 likely voters — with a 3.6-percentage-point margin of error among likely voters and a 3.1-percentage-point margin of error among all adults.
