The federal government is closed, Congress is out, and the only thing left to do is watch and wait for the huge blizzard that could dump more than two feet of snow on Washington, D.C.
And NASA is watching it all unfold from the Earth’s orbit.
NASA tweeted out a picture of the giant storm, which covers much of the middle of the country. Its tweet showed a relatively clean northeast corridor, one that is about to get jammed up with snow.
“We’re watching #Blizzard2016 from space,” NASA tweeted Friday.

Another picture from Thursday showed the giant storm to the west of the Great Lakes:
House Speaker Paul Ryan’s office has also set up a live YouTube page where people can watch the snow falling from his office in the Capitol.
As a snow started, a few hundred people were watching.
