Like all savvy retailers, staying on top of emerging markets is key.
And with D.C. lawmakers legalizing gay marriage in the city, local jeweler Mervis Diamond Importers is ready to sell some bling.
The retailer appropriately unveiled its new line of rings for same-sex couples at a “Coming Out” party last week.
Jonathan Mervis said the concept was devised during a lunch with his father, jeweler Ronnie Mervis.
“We’ve been serving the gay community in downtown D.C. for many years. Nothing changes, except soon it will be legal,” Mervis said.
