Michelle Obama joins Snapchat

Michelle Obama joined Snapchat Tuesday, and said she was ready to give followers a behind-the-scenes look into the first lady’s life.

The first major story will be the first lady’s trip to Liberia, Morocco and Spain next week as part of the Let Girls Learn program.

“Stay tuned for behind-the-scenes snaps from her trip, including posts from actresses and advocates Meryl Streep and Freida Pinto,” first lady press aide Kelsey Donohue wrote in a Medium blog post.

Obama also tweeted that she had joined Snapchat, which allows users to send pictures, videos and messages to each other.

In her first story posted on Snapchat Tuesday, she appears to be filming scenes in the White House for both “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” and Carpool Karaoke for James Corden’s “The Late Late Show.”

Obama is also on other social media: Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. Her Snapchat username is MichelleObama.

According to Snapchat, it has more than 100 million daily users who spend an average of 25 to 30 minutes on it every day.
