‘Crickets’: CNN criticized for not covering Biden’s ‘you ain’t black’ comment

CNN is being accused of inadequately covering former Vice President Joe Biden’s comment Friday that black people who have questions about supporting him “ain’t black.”

“I tell you if you have a problem figuring out whether you’re for me or Trump, then you ain’t black,” Biden said during an interview with Charlamagne tha God on Friday, sparking outrage from some, while others questioned why CNN didn’t cover the story as much as other networks.

“Fascinating to watch how the left-leaning cable networks have covered Biden’s ‘you ain’t black’ comment. MSNBC has discussed it nearly every hour […] CNN hasn’t mentioned it once,” former CNN digital producer Steve Krakauer said.

“Biden told a black radio host that ‘If you have a problem figuring out whether you’re for me or Trump, then you ain’t black,'” constitutional law professor Jonathan Turley said. “Crickets on CNN and other sites thus far. Biden remains constructively bunkered by the media from fallout for outrageous comments.”

“It’s been over 5 HOURS since Biden told Black people they ‘ain’t black’ if they support @realDonaldTrump,” Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel said about CNN’s coverage. “How many times has CNN mentioned his bigoted comment on air? ZERO. Unreal.”

Biden later apologized for the comment, saying he doesn’t take the black vote for granted.

“I’ve never ever taken the African American community for granted, had their support … I shouldn’t have been such a wise guy. I shouldn’t have been so cavalier,” Biden later said. “I don’t take it for granted at all, and no one, no one should have to vote for any party, based on their race or religion or background.”
