Texas Sen. Ted Cruz has given Donald Trump a pejorative nickname in light of the reality television star’s decision to skip Thursday night’s primetime GOP presidential debate: “Ducking Donald.”
Trump decided to forego the debate after Fox News responded to his complaints about moderator Megyn Kelly with a sarcastic statement. Cruz — who long refused mentioning any slight against Trump — has openly mocked The Donald on the stump, and in radio and television interviews.
On Wednesday, Cruz continued his offensive online and has launched a web page designed to leverage Trump’s decision to his advantage by enlisting supporters who want to see Trump accept Cruz’s challenge of a one-on-one debate. The web page features a cartoon version of a pouting Trump with webbed feet and a top hat, lounging on money bags.
The Texas senator also took to Twitter to mock Trump for “trembling” at the thought of being questioned by Kelly and paired his quip with a clip from “Monty Python and the Holy Grail,” a comedy film made more than 40 years ago.

Cruz ranks second behind Trump in the Washington Examiner‘s newest GOP presidential power rankings. Cruz will campaign in Iowa on Wednesday ahead of Monday’s first-in-the-nation caucus.
