A suspected methamphetamine lab was found at a home in Culpeper, officials said.
Culpeper police responded to a domestic call in the 1100 block of Meander Drive Tuesday afternoon and found the suspected lab in the home’s garage. Police evacuated neighboring homes and called the Drug Enforcement Administration and other agencies for help.
Officers, who were wearing protective suits and breathing masks, removed items suspected to manufacture meth from the garage. A Concord, Va., company packaged and removed the contaminated materials, officials said.
A man and a woman, who were not identified, were charged with domestic assault. The man allegedly resisted arrest, officials said, and a police officer hurt his hand while he was trying to arrest the man.
Two children living in the home have been turned over to Culpeper Child Protective Services, and the home has been declared uninhabitable, officials said.
