US and Afghan forces killed several enemy fighters and detained several

other mid-level suspected insurgents in operations Monday throughout

Afghanistan, military officials reported.

    Security forces captured several suspected insurgents, including three Haqqani network terrorists, in Khost province. The Haqqani terrorist network is one of the most dangerous insurgent groups in the east targeting US and Afghan forces.

    Coalition forces detained two Haqqani terrorists and several other

suspects linked to weapons trafficking in the province’s Sabari district,

while a separate combined patrol captured the other Haqqani terrorist and a suspected insurgent in Terayazi district. The second Haqqani terrorist reportedly is a specialist in planning explosive device attacks.
