Arlington County police are investigating an apparent murder-suicide at an apartment complex Tuesday afternoon.
A man and a woman were found dead in an apartment complex on the 4500 block of 31st Street in Arlington County, police spokesman Dustin Sternbeck said.
Sternbeck said police believe the man killed the woman, then himself. The two, both 30, were at some point involved in an “intimate relationship,” Sternbeck said, but police aren’t sure whether they were married or had children.
Both the man and the woman were of Hispanic descent, Sternbeck said. He said police couldn’t release the couple’s names because they had not yet notified their family.
A cousin found the two dead in a back bedroom and called police at 2:43 p.m., Sternbeck said.
A representative from the Park Shirlington apartment complex said they didn’t have information about the incident and were letting police investigate.
The incident is the first homicide in Arlington County since March 2010.
