BDS-loving Ilhan Omar only has an issue with sanctions when they’re against a communist dictator

With Venezuelan hyperinflation catapulting from 9,000% to 10,000,000% in the past year, its educated citizens fleeing the nation bogged down $100 billion in debt, and the people’s support for the internationally recognized President Juan Guaidó persisting, the time is right for President Trump to choke off the South American nation’s dictator, Nicolás Maduro.

Trump has teased an escalation against the Maduro regime for some time now, and his new sanctions against all assets of the Venezuelan government threatens to push the ruinous dictatorship to its breaking point.

Democracy is about to win, and not one American life was lost in the process. The only question now is whom will it enrage the most — Vladimir Putin, Xi Jinping, or Rep. Ilhan Omar?

As you may recall, the Minnesota Democrat actually tried to blame America for the communist nation’s woes, claiming that President Barack Obama’s piecemeal sanctions on Venezuela less than a decade ago caused the widespread starvation, blackouts, measles, and tuberculosis outbreaks, and medical shortages that are actually the fruit of socialist rule. Omar has also decried sanctions as a prelude to “eventually intervene and make regime change.”

I’m not a betting woman, but if I were, my money would be on Omar whining about the sanctions again before the day’s end, still deeming it a disruption of Venezuelan sovereignty even though our chances of military intervention are nil and the leader we are disrupting has re-installed himself illegally as president.

When Omar pipes up, take some mirth from the ironic contrast with her virulent anti-Semitism and hatred for Israel — because the two are separate and she harbors both. Omar doesn’t have a problem with the imposition of sanctions as a tool of foreign policy. She just has a problem with Jews and with Israel.
