Huma Abedin was seen in public for the first time Thursday and told paparazzi she was “sad” after new emails discovered on her estranged husband Anthony Weiner’s laptop reignited the FBI’s probe into Hillary Clinton’s private server.
Photographers asked Abedin how she was feeling after they ran into her at Washington’s Union Station.
“Sad,” she responded.
Abedin ignored questions of whether she thought the renewed email scandal will hurt Clinton and if a Donald Trump victory on Tuesday is possible.
Abedin, a longtime aide to Clinton, was thrown into the spotlight after FBI Director James Comey announced last week that the FBI was investigating new emails connected to Clinton, discovered through the investigation of Weiner’s alleged sexting with a minor. Abedin announced in August she was separating from Weiner after his latest online activities came to light.
Abedin headlined a private fundraiser for Clinton in D.C. Thursday night.
