A raccoon was killed after he gnawed off his leg to escape from an illegal trap in Northwest Washington, and police are seeking information that could lead to the felonious trapper.
Washington Humane Society officials said the raccoon was found with his front leg still caught in a steel jaw leg-hold trap in the 3800 block of Yuma Street NW. The trap broke the bones in the raccoon’s leg and the raccoon chewed through his own limb.
