Kaye Scholer set to earn $6.75M for work on Calif. controller’s unpaid property program

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (Legal Newsline) – A law firm hired by California Controller John Chiang to bring litigation against insurers is set to make $6.75 million in attorney’s fees.

Through California’s 1959 Unclaimed Property Law, Chiang retained Kaye Scholer attorneys Marc Cohen and Steven Rosenthal in July 2011 to assist the Controller’s Office with claims relating to unpaid death benefits.
