ULSTER, N.Y. (AP) — A 49-year-old Hudson Valley man faces an unlawful surveillance charge after state police say he flew a personal drone outside the windows of a medical building, shooting video.
Lt. Mike Drake said David Beesmer of Lake Katrine was arrested Tuesday evening outside medical offices in the town of Ulster, about 80 miles north of New York City. Drake said Beesmer flew the drone close to fourth-floor windows where patients were examined.
Beesmer was released until a future court appearance. He didn’t return a phone call seeking comment.
Beesmer has an overall aerial shot of the building on his Facebook page; the windows are dark-tinted.
He says on the Facebook page he “made a huge error in judgment” but said he shot the video to promote the new facility.
