Mount Vernon has been tapped as the site for a new, mid-rise, environmentally friendly condominium project to be built by UrbanEx Development, a company that specializes in modern urban-style interiors and exteriors.
“Most of the degradation to the environment from development occurs from construction of new buildings,” UrbanEx founder Justin Shelby said in a statement. “By renovating an existing building and using sustainable materials, we are able to provide quality product that is affordable, as well as environmentally friendly.”
Plans are to convert several manor homes into 16 condominiums and 10,000 square feet of retail space. TEN14 North Charles will retain the area?s historic and ornate facades. The condos will have bamboo floors, recycled countertops and no-VOC paint in order to minimize environmental degradation and impact.
