Former FBI Director James Comey will sit down with the ladies of ABC’s “The View” next month for an appearance after the release of his new book.
Co-host Whoopi Goldberg announced the upcoming interview on Tuesday. Comey will appear on the show April 18.
“We wanted to announce that on April 18, James Comey will be joining us for his first daytime interview, and clearly we have a lot to talk to him about,” she said.

In addition to his interview with “The View,” Comey will also speak with ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos before the release of his book, “A Higher Loyalty,” which hits shelves April 17.
Comey is also scheduled to appear on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” the day the book is released.
The former FBI director’s book was initially scheduled to be published May 1, but Flatiron Books announced in February it would be moving up the release date because of the “intense scrutiny” the FBI is facing.
President Trump fired Comey last year, after which special counsel Robert Mueller was tapped to lead the investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election.
The former FBI director has made waves since his termination, as it was revealed Comey memorialized several conversations he had with the president in a series of memos.
In one memo, Comey detailed how the president pressured him to end the FBI’s investigation into former national security adviser Michael Flynn. In another, Comey recalled how Trump demanded loyalty from him.
