Fact Check: Does a Photo Show a Border Agent Attacked by the Current Migrant Caravan?

An image—from the “Trump Train Conductor” himself—with the caption “at the U.S./Mexico Border Chula Vista ,Ca. [sic] This is what’s going on folks . [sic] A Border agent was hit by rock throwing from the other side” began making the rounds Monday on Facebook. “You will not see this on CNN or MSNBC or in face news” the user who posted the image said.

While TWS Fact Check is unfamiliar with “face news,” we can assure readers that they will not, in fact, see this image (in this context) on MSNBC or CNN because it is several years old. The image was used in a 2014 article from Breitbart and is not at all part of the current migrant caravan in Tijuana, Mexico.

“The below images were provided to Breitbart Texas from Homeland Security Today.” Breitbart reported at the time. “The images show injuries to Border Patrol agents, damage to Border Patrol vehicles, and some of the large rocks used in such attacks.”
