Man killed by car after falling off bicycle

ESSEX, Md. (AP) — Authorities say a 27-year-old man was struck and killed by a car after falling from his bicycle in Essex.

The accident occurred around 3:30 a.m. Saturday. Police say Jason Leonard of Joppa fell from his bike in the middle of Right Wing Drive and was struck by a car. Leonard died at the scene.

The driver of the car that struck Leonard remained on the scene and was taken to a hospital as a precaution. The accident remains under investigation.
