Anuzis: Young and reformed for RNC chair

Bye bye beer mugs

Michigan Republican Party Chair Saul Anuzis is hoping to get the GOP’s top political job: Head of the Republican National Committee.

And he’d like you to know, among his numerous qualifications, is this one: He’s cleaned up his act at home.

“When I met my wife, the first thing she did was make me through out my ‘Viva von Mises’ shirts,” said Anunzis at an American Spectator breakfast Tuesday, referring to the iconic conservative economist. “The second thing she made me get rid of was the beer mugs.

“She very much tried to domesticate me, and hopefully she succeeded.”

Still, even though Anuzis has grown up in some regards, he’s still young for the GOP.

“It’s horrible when I walk into a room [of Republicans], and at 48 — balding and graying — I’m one of the youngest guys in the room.”

Just how young? “Believe it or not, I answer my own email, my own Twitter, my own blog.”
