The Senate Judiciary Committee is leaning toward once again subpoenaing former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, Sen. Dianne Feinstein said Sunday.
Feinstein, D-Calif., said on CNN’s “State of the Union” Sunday a subpoena will “likely” happen.
“We will likely do that,” she said. “If he refuses to come before the committee and one of the things that we want to do before is some investigative work and we now have the people aboard that can do that.”
The committee previously subpoenaed Manafort in July, but rescinded that subpoena after it seemed the committee could make a deal with Manafort to get him to appear for testimony.
However, that deal has not come into place and Manafort has yet to testify in front of that committee.
Manafort’s political and business dealings with Russian and Ukrainian officials are under scrutiny in the various investigations into Russian meddling in the 2016 election.
Manafort has been singled out as one of the key players, to the point that the FBI carried out an early morning raid on his home earlier this summer.
