Colbert wore makeup to hearing

If members of Congress had examined Stephen Colbert‘s face closely before he opened his mouth Friday, they may have realized what they were in for.

They were not getting Colbert the man, they were getting Colbert the character.

The comedian, a source tells us, brought a makeup artist along with him to Capitol Hill and wore foundation and lipstick while testifying before to a House Judiciary Subcommittee.
At the hearing, when he was supposed to be talking about migrant farm workers, he tried to submit his colonoscopy into the Congressional Record, discussed getting a Brazilian wax and shared with Republican Rep. Steve King of Iowa that “cornpacker” was a derogatory name for a gay Iowan.

Later he slightly broke character when Rep. Judy Chu, D-Calif., asked him why he was interested in this issue.

“Migrant workers suffer and have no rights,” Colbert said.
Colbert’s spokeswoman could not confirm whether Colbert was wearing makeup. She was out of the country.
