Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker, a Republican, admitted Tuesday that he did not select Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton or any other candidate in the presidential race.
“I’m obviously disappointed about that,” Baker told reporters after voting at First Church in Swampscott, Mass. “I said many months ago that I wasn’t going to be able to support Donald Trump for a number of reasons, and I thought Hillary Clinton had believability problems, and nothing has happened in the last nine months to change my mind on that.”
The governor encouraged Massachusetts residents to turn out and vote in state and local races.
“The most important thing is the people need to come out and exercise their right and make sure they vote all the way up and down the ballot, because those state rep and state senate races matter a lot here in the Commonwealth,” Baker added.
The 2012 GOP presidential nominee, Mitt Romney, was also a governor of Massachusetts, as well as Libertarian vice presidential nominee Bill Weld.
