A Laurel man faces armed-robbery charges in Howard County, after the man he assaulted followed him home and phoned police.
Jason Lee Clarit, 27, is accused of hitting the man with a silver automatic pistol Tuesday night and then robbing him of $21, a pair of Nike Air Jordan basketball shoes and a cell phone, according to court documents.
The man and his friends had played basketball at Savage Park with Clarit, who gave the man a ride to an apartment complex, but his friends followed in another car, police said.
The man told police Clarit tried to sell him drugs.
When he refused, Clarit assaulted him and shoved him out of his Silver Honda, according to court records.
His friends picked him up and tailed Clarit to his Laurel apartment, calling police en route.
Clarit is charged with armed robbery, robbery, first-and-second degree assault, reckless endangerment and use of a handgun in the commission of a violent crime.
