Politically-minded parents who don’t want their kids whiling away their time doodling in coloring books about dogs or Dora the Explorer can now let their children get a political lesson while they color — “The Tea Party II: Why America Loves you!” coloring book is now retailing online for $5.99.
The book features Tea Party history and line drawings of “some famous faces of today’s Tea Party,” including Glenn Beck, Rep. Michele Bachmann (albeit with a misspelled name), Sen. Rand Paul, Sarah Palin and Herman Cain. The book also helpfully identifies a few enemies —“some famous politicians who are very powerful” and “openly make fun of The Tea Party and its members.” The bad guys include Rep. Nancy Pelosi, “House Speaker” Harry Reid (Reid is in fact the Senate majority leader) and Rep. Charles Rangel.
“Why America Loves You!” is careful to point out that “even though some may consider these politicians to be mean spirited people, The Tea Party doesn’t want bad things to happen to them personally.”
