Things went haywire for one cow after an udderly ridiculous rescue mission saw the animal saved from a cellar in Virginia.
The cow was trapped in a seven-foot cellar Saturday after falling through the floor of a barn, according to a fire department Facebook post. Rescue officers that arrived on the scene called the Galax Fire Department and the emergency roadside service company Kings Towing And Recovery to aid in the rescue.

The towing company used a wrecker boom to recover the animal by strapping it to the boom and lifting it to safety. The cow was not injured in the process and all units were cleared within an hour, the department said in a Facebook post.
“Thank you Galax Fire Department and everyone else who assisted in the rescue,” Keri Hodger, the cow’s owner, commented under the fire department’s Facebook post. “Our big guy is doing fine with just a few scratches. We are so grateful for everyone’s assistance.”

Galax is a small city located approximately 100 miles southwest of Roanoke. It has a population of 6,000 residents as of 2020.
