CNN’s Jim Acosta is at it again.
The aspiring cable news commentator hosted former Housing and Urban Development Secretary and San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro Thursday to discuss the fallout from Hurricane Harvey.
To say Acosta lobbed softballs would be an understatement. Even softballs have heft and weight. Also, there was nothing as dangerous as lobbing. Acosta gently handed his friendly inquiries to Castro, who must’ve been pleased at the friendly and welcoming media environment.
And here is the question that got my attention: “Do you think that the president’s visit this weekend will be helpful or harmful?”
The Democratic mayor didn’t take the bait. Castro kept it cool and professional, despite being given many such opportunities to trash the chief executive with some really vicious red-meat commentary.
