Bill Maher took aim at the media saying he did not have faith in their ability to cover the 2020 election properly.
“I don’t know. But no, I don’t trust the media,” Maher said Monday in response to CNN host Chris Cuomo asking him if he had faith in the media to police the election.
“I don’t have a lot of faith because, you know, we don’t live in the era of news division as loss leaders like we used to. The news division didn’t have to make a profit. Then that changed and then you have to report to the board like everybody else and show your earnings and in that atmosphere they’re always going to be looking for eyeballs. That’s going to be the most important thing is getting people to click, getting people to watch,” the host of HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher” said.
Maher, an outspoken liberal, also criticized the Democrats choice of Hillary Clinton as their presidential nominee, saying she was a terrible candidate.
He thought the media did not cover her fairly but added she committed obstruction of justice.
