Twitter suspends Border Patrol chief’s account after he praised border wall

Twitter suspended the account belonging to U.S. Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Mark Morgan over a tweet promoting the positive effects of the wall along the U.S. southern border.

“You may not promote violence against, threaten, or harass other people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, religious affiliation, age, disability, or serious disease,” Twitter said in an emailed statement to The Federalist on Thursday.

“@CBP & @USACEHQ continue to build new walls every day,” Morgan’s Twitter post said. “Every mile helps us stop gang members, murderers, sexual predators, and drugs from entering our country.”

“We took enforcement action on the Tweet you referenced, but the decision was reversed following an appeal by the account owner and further evaluation from our team,” a Twitter spokesperson told the Washington Examiner on Thursday.

Twitter has been criticized for perceived censorship of conservative content, including this week when Republican Sen. Ted Cruz criticized Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey about the company’s suppression of a bombshell New York Post story regarding Hunter Biden’s business dealings.

“Mr. Dorsey, who the hell elected you and put you in charge of what the media are allowed to report and what the American people are allowed to hear?” Cruz asked Dorsey during a Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee hearing Wednesday.
