Six people shot at celebration of life in Springfield, Ohio

Six people at a celebration of life in Springfield, Ohio, were shot early Wednesday morning.

One victim was flown to Miami Valley Hospital, while the other five were taken to Springfield Regional Medical Center, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol. The severity of their injuries is unknown.

The gathering was a celebration of life being held in memory of someone who died “some time ago,” according to WDTN.

There could have been more than one shooter, Springfield Police said.

Authorities do not have a suspect or suspects in custody, and they have not released any details about the alleged shooter.

The location used to be a barbershop but is now a space rented out for parties and events.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol and the Springfield Police did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
