President Trump criticized the press Wednesday for being “silent” after Republican Debbie Lesko won a House seat in Arizona’s special election Tuesday night.
“Congratulations to Republican Debbie Lesko on her big win in the Special Election for Arizona House seat. Debbie will do a Great Job! Press is so silent,” Trump posted to Twitter.

Lesko defeated Democrat Hiral Tipirneni, who was trying to turn another House seat blue.
Lesko won 52.6 percent of the vote in a district that President Trump carried more than 20 points in the 2016 presidential election.
Trump endorsed Lesko Tuesday in a tweet urging Arizonans to get out and vote for the candidate who supports his border wall.
Arizona, please get out today and vote @DebbieLesko for Congress in #AZ08. Strong on Border, Immigration and Crime. Great on the Military. Time is ticking down – get out and VOTE today. We need Debbie in Congress!
