Vice President Mike Pence revealed that the White House would unveil new public service announcements meant to inform U.S. citizens of the latest developments in the coronavirus pandemic. The vice president announced the PSAs during Tuesday’s daily coronavirus press briefing.
“We spoke just yesterday with the leaders of every broadcast network in America that will soon be unveiling public service campaign using CDC guidelines,” he said.

A day earlier the president urged people to avoid crowds larger than 10 people, shortly after the Centers for Disease Control said people should not be in crowds exceeding 50 people. In order to make that possible, a number of states have closed public areas, including restaurants, bars, and gyms.
“The guidelines that we’re mentioning now … some may look at them and say they’re going to be really inconvenient for people,” Dr. Anthony Fauci, head of the National Institute for Allergies and Infectious Diseases said on Monday. “Some may say, well, maybe we’ve gone a little too far. They were well thought out.”
As of Tuesday morning, there have been nearly 185,000 confirmed coronavirus cases around the world, nearly 80,000 recoveries, and more than 7,000 deaths, according to the latest reading by the Johns Hopkins University tracker.
