‘The View’s over Bernie’: hosts praise Elizabeth Warren for confronting Bernie Sanders on stage

The hosts of ABC’s The View tore into Sen. Bernie Sanders and praised Sen. Elizabeth Warren over an exchange the two had after the last Democratic presidential debate.

“Well, if anybody was wondering if Elizabeth Warren can take on a man in power, she just showed you how to do it,” host Joy Behar said Thursday on the show. “I don’t worry about her with Trump. She can handle herself.”

“That’s my takeaway,” host Sunny Hostin agreed. “She stuck by what she has said all along. She believes … Bernie Sanders told her he does not believe that a woman can be president, can win this election. He says that he didn’t say it, but she just said you called me a liar on national television, and he didn’t really refute it.”

Warren, 70, confronted the Vermont Independent during the Tuesday debate and accused him of calling her a liar. The Massachusetts Democrat had claimed earlier in the week that Sanders had told her in 2018 that a woman could not win the presidency. Sanders has denied that he had ever said that.

Host Meghan McCain declared that the takeaway is that “we’re all over Bernie.” Host Whoopi Goldberg agreed, stating, “Yes, maybe that is the takeaway.” “The View‘s over Bernie,” McCain added again.
