Hunter Biden among guests invited to White House state dinner with France’s Macron

Hunter Biden was one of the 300-plus guests who enjoyed Maine lobster and caviar at the White House for the first state dinner of President Joe Biden’s administration.

Hunter Biden and second wife Melissa Cohen did not arrive through the state dinner’s public entrance at the White House. House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), who could become House speaker next year as a new Republican majority prepares to investigate the younger Biden, did, but he sidestepped questions about the first son’s presence at the event.

“Well, I’m at dinner with my mom, so we’re going to have a great time,” McCarthy told reporters Thursday.

Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden first welcomed French President Emmanuel Macron and French first lady Brigitte Macron on the White House North Portico before posing for more photos together at the building’s Grand Staircase.

Jill Biden wore a custom-made off-the-shoulder navy floral lace evening gown by Oscar de la Renta, one of the first lady’s favored fashion labels. Brigitte Macron donned a high-neckline ivory dress with silver detailing and a slit up the side by French compatriot Louis Vuitton.
