Meghan McCain, a host of ABC’s The View, rebuked a producer on the show while it was on air after a legal notice was displayed for her to read.
“There’s so many people that take a stop at the Trump White House, here, and then jail, it’s hard to remember,” the host said Thursday. “And Avenatti’s now going to jail. One of our co-hosts.”
A minute later, McCain scolded a producer for trying to get her to read a legal notice. “Take off that legal note about Michael Avenatti. I’m not interested, and I don’t think America is interested either, OK,” she stated.
Hosts Joy Behar and Sunny Hostin then jumped in and clarified that Avenatti had pleaded “not guilty.” “So we don’t know if he’s going to jail,” Hostin said. McCain could be heard saying, “Oh, for god’s sake,” while Hostin continued to talk.
The 35-year-old conservative host has reportedly had a falling out with the hosts. “They aren’t speaking to each other. It’s been about a month. None of the ladies talk to Meghan now,” a show insider said.
McCain’s longtime “ride or die” and fellow host Abby Huntsman announced Monday that she is leaving the show. The pair’s relationship had reportedly “soured” in the last year, but they patched things over before Huntsman left the show.
