Democrats have benefited from Russia more than Republicans

Political consultants on both the Left and the Right actually know very little about politics, and there’s no one who demonstrates that better than former Obama White House adviser David Plouffe.

Tuesday on MSNBC, Plouffe actually said with a straight face that Democrats are at a disadvantage going into the election because, “We don’t have Fox, Sinclair, or the Russians.”

Who knew Republicans were so lucky? They’ve got Chris Wallace, a handful of local TV stations and, naturally, the Russians!

President Trump should be thanking God right at this very moment for that bounty.

And how sad for Democrats because what do they have? Only the entire entertainment industry, the New York Times, the Washington Post, NBC, CBS, ABC, MSNBC, and CNN.

It’s laughable to suggest that it’s Republicans who benefit in any way from anything having to do with Russia.

Russia is the Democrats’ favorite weapon in Washington. They even use it among themselves.

At the Democratic debate last week, Michael Bloomberg told Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders that “Vladimir Putin thinks that Donald Trump should be president of the United States and that is why Russia is helping you get elected.”

Hillary Clinton called Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard a “Russian asset.”

Both the Washington Post and the New York Times eagerly ran stories in January, alleging that Russian hackers had breached the internal systems of Burisma, the Ukrainian oil company that implicated Joe Biden and his son in the impeachment saga. The origin of that claim: Oren Falkowitz, who is working with Democratic presidential candidates.

It’s a great myth that Russia provides a great boost to Trump. The opposite is true. No one has been hurt more by Russia than Trump. Special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation, based on the ridiculous premise that Trump’s campaign was working with Putin, ate through two years of Trump’s first term, giving Democrats in Congress the perfect excuse to refuse to cooperate with the president and Republicans on anything and everything.

What did Trump get out of Russia? Emails? Hilarious. Does anyone even remember what was in them? The only remarkable thing to come out of the WikiLeaks email dumps was the truth that the Democratic establishment had wanted Clinton as its nominee and was working to undercut Sanders in 2016. As if that weren’t obvious from the beginning of that campaign.

Russia has not been great for Republicans at all. But at least they have Wallace and Sinclair!
