House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy said Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi must take action on Rep. Maxine Waters “inciting violence in Minneapolis,” or he will.
“Maxine Waters is inciting violence in Minneapolis — just as she has incited it in the past. If Speaker Pelosi doesn’t act against this dangerous rhetoric, I will bring action this week,” McCarthy tweeted Sunday.

Pelosi’s office did not immediately respond to the Washington Examiner’s request for comment on the matter.
Videos of Waters speaking to protesters in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, circulated on social media this weekend and soon went viral.
“We’re looking for a guilty verdict,” Waters said in the videos, referring to Derek Chauvin’s trial in the death of George Floyd last May. “And we’re looking to see if all of the talk that took place and has been taking place after they saw what happened to George Floyd, if nothing does not happen, then we know that we’ve got to not only stay in the street, but we’ve got to fight for justice.”
“I am very hopeful,” the California Democrat added of Chauvin being found guilty. “I hope that we are going to get a verdict that will say ‘guilty, guilty, guilty.’”

“And if we don’t, we cannot go away,” she added. “We’ve got to get more confrontational.”
Her comments were met with a torrent of GOP criticisms, including also from Sen. Ted Cruz and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene.

Greene announced she plans to introduce a resolution to expel Waters over her comments.
“Very soon I’ll be introducing a resolution to expel @RepMaxineWaters from Congress for her continual incitement of violence on innocent American people,” she tweeted. “Rep Waters is a danger to our society.”

“After traveling across state lines to incite riots, her orders recorded on video last night at the Brooklyn Center, directly led to more violence and a drive by shooting on National Guardsmen in Minnesota early this morning,” she continued. “As a sitting United States Congresswoman @MaxineWaters threatened a jury demanding a guilty verdict and threatened violence if Chauvin is found not guilty. This is also an abuse of power.”
The videos of Waters’s comments are also still on Facebook and Twitter, despite both tech behemoths banning the promotion of violence and stripping former President Donald Trump of his accounts for comments they deemed incited an insurrection.
