Talk about timing.
As trucks full of equipment start arriving at baseball spring training camps throughout Florida and Arizona this weekend, our favorite auction house of historical artifacts has announced the sale of two remarkable presidential souvenirs.
Maryland-based Alexander Historical Auctions is offering at its online auction on Monday and Tuesday two baseballs, both signed by President Biden.
But there’s a bonus. One is also signed by former President Barack Obama, and the other is signed by Vice President Kamala Harris.
It may be the first time ever that baseballs signed by back-to-back presidents and vice presidents have been put on sale.

Both are expected to sell for $5,000-$7,000. They will be sold Tuesday.
The Biden signature might help boost the sale price because he is a big-time baseball fan. He is, for example, expected to return to the practice of regularly throwing out first pitches. Insiders have hinted that the Pennsylvania native and Delaware resident would do that at the Philadelphia Phillies opening day.
The auction house did not report where the baseballs came from but did confirm their authenticity.

For the Biden-Harris baseball, it said: “An exceedingly rare and highly desirable Official Rawlings National League baseball, signed boldly on the ‘sweet spot’ by the newly-elected 46th President of the United States, JOSEPH R. BIDEN, and signed on a side panel by his Vice President, KAMALA HARRIS. Very fine, untouched condition.”
And for the Biden-Obama ball, it said: “Excessively rare and desirable Official Rawlings National League baseball, signed boldly on the ‘sweet spot’ by BARACK OBAMA, 44th President of the United States, and also signed on a side panel by his Vice President, now the 46th President of the United States, JOSEPH R. BIDEN. Very fine, untouched condition.”
