Unless Attorney General William Barr just lied through his teeth to the entire world, special counsel Robert Mueller found “no evidence” that either President Trump or any of his associates conspired to collude or cooperated with the Russians in their attempt to interfere in the 2016 election.
This is objectively excellent news. It means that the leader of the free world for the last two years, love him or despise him, didn’t commit the single worst crime a president can commit against his nation: treason.
So why are you so angry? Why are you actually sobbing into your body pillow, praying you make it until Rachel Maddow comes to comfort you tonight? Why are you breaking down into hysterics because our often childish, impatient, brash president didn’t commit literal collusion with our number one geopolitical foe?
Pres. @BarackObama in 2012: “Gov. Romney, I’m glad that you recognize that Al Qaeda is a threat, because a few months ago when you were asked what’s the biggest geopolitical threat facing America, you said Russia… The 1980s are now calling to ask for their foreign policy back.” pic.twitter.com/pknOWHeNjm

Well, apparently there’s a lot of you having a bit of a meltdown today.
Here’s New York Times columnist Michelle Goldberg:
That arrogant, willfully misleading press conference was shocking even by 2019 standards. We continue to underreact to our government’s transformation into an authoritarian junta.

Here’s Pod Bro Jon Favreau:
Whether or not that action rises to the level of criminality, it means that Trump campaign associates aided and abetted an attack on our election that helped their candidate win.
They cheated. https://t.co/HE4x6WIk4h

Here’s CNN Legal Analyst and New Yorker writer Jeffrey Toobin:
Happy people don’t obstruct justice. Trump’s frustration at leaks and investigation are evidence of guilt, not innocence. But let’s see the report . .

Here’s MSNBC contributor and Washington Post columnist Eugene Robinson:
We’ll see in an hour or so, but after listening carefully to AG Barr my prediction is that there was indeed “collusion” as most people understand the non-legal term and there was indeed obstruction of justice. Let’s read the report.

I’m being redundant here, but I suppose this is the important point.
If your hatred of Trump surpasses your love of your country, you need help. From a professional.
