Singer John Legend went on a rant to TMZ as he was leaving a nightclub on Tuesday, appearing to have been set off by President Trump’s tweets that attacked Democrat Rep. Elijah Cummings over the conditions in Baltimore.
“Our president is a flaming racist. He’s a piece of shit. He says piece of shit, shit all the time, that’s what he does. We need to get him out of office,” Legend said.
When the cameraman asked him what could be done to improve the conditions in Baltimore, Legend said there were many things that can be implemented because Americans should be focusing on improving their communities instead of “talking shit.”
Adding that Trump is “racist prick,” Legend said, “Donald Trump is an evil f—ing canker sore on America’s whole landscape, so we need to get him out of office.”
Trump said Baltimore, which Cummings’ district is a part of, was “a disgusting, rat and rodent infested mess. If he spent more time in Baltimore, maybe he could help clean up this very dangerous & filthy place” in a series of tweets.
Trump’s critics have once again labeled him as a racist for the tweets on the conditions in Baltimore, even prompting city native and CNN anchor Victor Blackwell to respond to him during his show.
“The president says about Congressman Cummings’ district that ‘no human would want to live there,'” Blackwell said as he began to tear up. “You know who did Mr. President? I did. From the day I was brought home from the hospital to the day I left for college, and a lot of people I care about still do. There are challenges, no doubt. But people are proud of their community.”
