A video gaining steam on social media Saturday shows a former Marine stopping during his FedEx delivery route to pick up and fold an American flag that had fallen down in a citizen’s yard despite high winds.
Maryland resident Gail Cook posted footage from her security camera to Facebook in November that shows Mike King, the FedEx driver, stopping to pick up the American flag from the flag pole that was knocked over by the wind. King then took the flag onto the porch and began to fold it, despite the high winds making the job difficult.
King commented on Cook’s post saying that it was the “Marine way” and that he would’ve done a better job folding the flag if not for the winds.

“You and Eric are welcome [sic] I couldn’t just drive by and do nothing,” King wrote.
Cook followed up with a second Facebook post thanking everyone for sharing the story on social media, saying that she and her husband were “humbled” by all of the support.
“I’m hoping that the kindness of this one person doing something just Bc [sic] it was the right thing to, inspires others to do the same thing!” Cook wrote.
