Conservative host known for viral anti-Obama rant leaves show

Tomi Lahren, the conservative host whose rant on President Obama’s foreign policy went viral in July, is leaving her show at the fledgling One America News Network.

Lahren announced Tuesday night on social media that she had completed her last show.

“I’ve completed my last show at OANN and I am profoundly grateful for their support over the last year,” she wrote on Twitter. “Something new is coming…”

Lahren did not say why she was leaving her show, “On Point,” or what she had planned next. A source at OANN told the Washington Examiner media desk, however, that Lahren was unsatisfied with her contract agreement with OANN.

The source characterized the disagreement as a “dispute” between Lahren and Herring Networks, Inc., a family-owned business that owns OANN.

OANN, a conservative-leaning operation, launched in 2013 and is currently carried by limited cable providers. Lahren gained some national attention in July when she delivered a nearly three-minute screed against Obama’s approach to combating Islamic extremism in the Middle East. “Show ’em what they’re messing with,” Lahren had said. “Put the fear of God in their desert.”

Lahren did not return a request for comment.

The media news site Mediaite reported Tuesday that “On Point” will be guest-anchored for one week by former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.
