Chicago shooting leaves seven wounded outside pizza restaurant

A shooting outside a Little Caesars restaurant in Chicago left seven people injured on Sunday, police said in a press briefing.

The seven people were talking with an individual in a car outside the restaurant on Sunday when someone “almost immediately” opened fire on those outside, Chicago Police Superintendent David Brown said in Sunday’s briefing. The victims were all adult men and two are in critical condition, Brown said during the briefing.

“We don’t know whether it was a targeted or there was an altercation during the conversation,” Brown said. “So, we’re running all that down.

There was another vehicle, Brown said. It is unclear if the second vehicle was with the shooter or fled the scene due to the shooting.

Footage of the shooter’s vehicle is being reviewed, and details of its license plate, color, and model will be available when ready, Brown said. No arrests have been made.

Brown said the shooting is “one too many.” He asked the public for help and to provide any information on the shooting.
