Rasmussen: Catholics strongly disapprove of Obama

President Obama’s handling of the Health and Human Services (HHS) mandated-coverage of contraception seems to have inspired a wave of anti-Obama sentiment among the Catholic voters that could decide swing-state elections.

Rasmussen Reports released a poll today showing that 59 percent of likely Catholic voters “at least somewhat disapprove of the president’s job performance,” Rasmussen explains, adding that “the passion’s on the side of those who don’t like the job he’s doing: 44 percent Strongly Disapprove versus 19 percent who Strongly Approve.”

Obama holds a 40 percent approval rating, when you factor in the people who say that “somewhat approve” of his performance.

Bottom line, per Rasmussen: “Catholics strongly disapprove of the job President Obama is doing as the debate continues over his administration’s new policy forcing Catholic institutions to pay for contraception they morally oppose.”
