Animal control officials have taken custody of a pit bull who bit a 9-year-old boy in Anne Arundel County.
About 8:20 p.m. Wednesday, officers and fire department personnel found the boy in the 200 block of Armstrong Lane in Severna Park with an apparent bite wound on his lower leg.
An investigation found that the boy was bitten by a neighbor’s pit bull, and the neighbor was able to get the dog away from the boy. Authorities said the child was on a bicycle near his mother, who was visiting the neighbor.
The boy was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
