Perry spent nearly $14 million in final quarter

Perry releases his quarterly FEC report today revealing his campaign spent nearly $14 million on operating expenses from October 1 to December 31.

Total disbursements were $14,226,095.17, which included 273,795 in contribution refunds.

In spite of the campaign’s expenditures, Perry only raised 2,909,565.49 during the dwindling days of his campaign.

According to Perry’s year end report, the campaign’s total haul in 2011 was $20,072,280.86, spending $16,050,767.02 of it by the end of the year.

Perry reported $3,761,885.54 cash on hand at the end of the year, but his campaign continued with a heavy ad buy into South Carolina. Perry dropped out of the race on January 19 and endorsed Newt Gingrich prior to the South Carolina primary.
