Two firefighters are reportedly dead after becoming trapped on a burning cargo ship at Port Newark in New Jersey, where a mayday was called.
Video released on social media showed a fire blazing at the back of the ship, with smoke billowing into the air and police radio chatter in the background.

“One of the firefighters had his legs stuck, and crews were attempting to remove him from Port at End of Suez street. Crews search for multiple firefighters continues,” FreedomNews TV’s Oliya Scootercaster tweeted.

The firefighters were killed while trying to extinguish the flames, according to NBC New York’s Tracie Strahan. It is unclear what led to the fire.
